That's Right, Folks!

Complete SHOCK!!!

There were similar physical signs with both of my girls. I pretty much knew DJ was a girl because of those symptoms. With the boys, there were no such signs. There were none with this one, so I was SURE it was a boy.

When we went in today, we took five of the six kids with us. The vote in the car was 4 to 1 for a boy. DJ held out hope.

The kids had to wait in the waiting room while we did the major part of the ultrasound. Z and I went into the room. The tech asked if we wanted to know gender, and we told her that yes, we wanted to know. I assumed shed'd wait until the entire crew of inmates was there before revealing it to us. But, ohhhhh no.

One moment she put the probe on my belly; the next moment, before I even could make out what we were looking at, she said, "It's a girl."

Woah!!! So what I wanted to hear, but so what I was not expecting! I put my hands over my eyes just trying to absorb what she'd just told me.

My mom told me that after having three boys all she could think about was a girl when I was born. I now know what she was feeling. Isn't modern technology great? I can't imagine the anticipation of waiting to the very end at this point. We chose not to find out the sex of our two oldest kids, but I just don't think I could have stood it with this one. It's now nice to be able to prepare.

You said: "There were similar physical signs with both of my girls. I pretty much knew DJ was a girl because of those symptoms. With the boys, there were no such signs. There were none with this one, so I was SURE it was a boy."

This was my case, in reverse. I had all the "it's a girl" signs and was so absolutely confident my unexpected #7 was a girl I'd have bet money on it. Surprise! I made the ultrasound tech confirm it three times. Despite my dubious mental state at the time, my first thought was, "I'll have to go on and have one more, just to get my girl." But that thought didn't even last until the probe was off my belly, it alarmed me so much.

I am so, so happy for you. Ecstatic! And I hope she is the most peaceful, contented baby ever. Seventh babies should be. I'm dying to hear this name you've chosen!

This is one blessed little girl for getting to join your family. She's been waiting a long time for this moment and it's getting closer every day. I can't wait to meet her.
