Sometimes things just seem a bit overwhelming. It's hard not to get dragged under by it all. This morning was one of those mornings. Just seemed like everything was out of order.
When I heard the humming of the dishwasher, it made me stop and pay attention. When I get overwhelmed, I frequently turn on auto pilot. I just start doing stuff to chip away at the bigger pile without even thinking. This morning, I had done the dishes. Not only that, but the washing machine was agitating away upstairs too. I had done this as well. Oh, there were lots of things I hadn't done yet too, but for just a moment they faded away to somewhere in my subconscious.
As I stood in front of the dishwasher, I heard these words in my head (or was it my heart?), "And He saw that it was good." Gosh! If God Himself stopped after each thing He did and gave Himself a good ol' pat on the back, shouldn't I too?
Sometimes I get wrapped up in all the mistakes I make. Sometimes I let it really drag me down. Why? Why do I do this to myself? I do an awful lot of good. I would even suggest that I do WAY MORE good than I do bad. Shouldn't this get the recognition it deserves? Way to go me!
So, what have you seen today that was good? I bet you hand some kind of hand in it. Even if it was just a little thing, take a moment and bask in the good you've done for your world today. All I have to say is "Good job" to you!

I love this! What great insight, thanks for sharing :)
Loved your post about you & T making cookies and listening to music. I could just see the 2 of you having a blast!
Caiden & I made apricot nectar today (OJ,pineapple juice and apricots whirred together in the blender) It is something we havent had for a long time, and it was fun for us to just do this tiny thing together.
Why is it so hard for us gals to see the good, all of the are doing vs all the not doing? You saw my post huh? I am in lock down these days. It has been very hard.
Thanx for your reminders and for all of the wonderful comments that you always take the time to leave on my blog. It means more than you will ever know.
Love ya, friend!
I so needed this today. I am always so overwhelmed with chores going from one thing to the next going, going, going and never feeling like I'm accomplishing much. You just reminded me to stop and take time to give myself a pat on the back for a job well done. Thanks Julie :)
Excellent reminder! I needed some of this perspective today. Thank you friend.
Awesome reminder! I loved how you tied it into the creation. We forget that God is our ultimate example. Even HE stopped and gave himself a pat on the back and admired his work. Yes, you deserve a pat on the back. We all do. We are Energizer machines and deserve to stand back and see what good we do do. Thank you so much for this!
