I found this on a friend's blog. It was a great idea, so I thought I'd follow suit, but I changed things a bit. He chose the first post from each month; I wanted to put down what I thought was my favorite post, so here they are. Each has a link attached to the title if you want to read the entire post. Otherwise, the first sentence is listed below the title.
And so, I present the recap of The Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Nine, or A.D. MMIX:

"Children--What a Blessing"
The year T was born, there were a whole bunch of boys born in our ward.
It's so fun to look back and reflect. So many things to work on and improve in 2010, but what a blessed year 2009 was!

what a great idea. the penny thing with your Mom got me. Now that my Dad has passed away my Mom insists that every time she finds a penny it is Dad's way of saying hi to her. I guess it was something she read from Heloise once.
I was particularly touch by Messages from Mom. What a beautiful reminder of her presence. Something so small and simple.
Thank you for your encouraging posts. I have enjoyed reading your life stories and will continue to do so.
I wish you and your home a very Merry Christmas! may the spirit of Christ dwell in your home this holiday season.

What a fun retrospective, huh? Thanks for sharing your favorites. I have to
admit being torn every year between cherry-picking my favorites and just seeing
what the luck of the draw would turn up. I kinda like both, but have been
intersted in the slice of life revealed by the first-of-the-month sampling
to keep doing it. Maybe I'm just chaotic that way :)
Merry Christmas to you and your family!
