Time to Learn Sign Language?

I just told Inmate #6 that he needed to have a bath.  He immediately flew off the handle yelling, "No!  I don't want to have a nap."  I turned around and made sure he could see me say the word "bath."  This is not the first episode like this today.  Nor is it the first episode like this this month or even the past six months.

A few months ago, he was diagnosed with an ear infection.  I took him in because he wasn't hearing well; we got him meds.  A month later, I took him in again as his hearing continued to be problematic.  The doctor checked his ears and found that they looked normal, but it might just be fluid working its way through his system.

After today, I'm thinking not.  I think it's time to check some hearing, not just the ears.

Hie thee to yon ENT specialist! We suffered all kinds of worry when we realized our youngest couldn't hear normally. It turned out to be fluid in his ears that kept his eardrum from vibrating. One set of tubes later, he was hearing a whole new world...

Sign is great! You can yell at the kids and nobody know what you are saying... just saying. :) Just kidding but it is a whole bunch of fun and i can totally help you learn if you want. We can skype away and stuff. Just let me know. I think that would be a good idea to have the ENT check it out and also get an audio-gram that will tell you if and what he is missing. There is some info about that stuff on my other blog. I need to do better about keeping that one up. LOL!
