Tagged

Thanks for the tag, Merrianne! I LOVE this kind of stuff. I love that I don't have to think about what to blog about. I left a post like this a long time ago, so now I have to think of more weird facts about myself.

1. I've found that if I keep my nails painted, I don't pick my hangnails and cuticles, so I keep my nails painted all the time--but I don't consider myself to be high maintenance.

2. I chose my husband over a job as an international flight attendant.

3. I taught myself how to cut my husband's hair in college, so I could afford to get my own hair cut.

4. I sang in my brother's band when I was in my early 20's.

5. I played the part of Anne Frank's mother in the high school play.

6. I was the only one in the room when my mother died--this is an interesting story that I'll share some time.

7. I LOVE eclairs! Not the frozen ones, the ones fresh from the bakery--good memories of times with my mom.
Okay, so I tag:

I learned so many things about you. I loved that you taught yourself how to cut your husband's hair so that you could pay to get your own hair cut. That is totally something I would do. Unfortunately I never thought of that though and thus my husband had hair down to the middle of his back for several years.

These are fun. I'm sure there's some sort of group psychology experiment in here someplace, but it's interesting to me how these memes circulate around and cross over between what seem to be such different communities of friends (I see this a lot on Live Journal). We're a lot more connected than we think, and these circulation patters would seem to suggest that.

Actually, over on LJ there are some communities which publish a list of five questions to answer about yourself every Friday (you post your own answers in your blog and put a link back on the community blog posting). It's always interesting to learn little tidbits about people that you'd normally not think to ask or offer :) Maybe I'll start doing those again (I've only done those every once in a great while).

I particularly liked the one I did back in 2005 where you pick 20 books you love and post short quotes from them and see how many of your friends can identify them.

I made that up based on another one going around at the time which was the same thing, but with quotes from 20 movies you love. I did that too, but liked the idea of doing books.

And this one is always a favorite for the same glimpse at what people are reading at random times.

(All the links are to my LiveJournal since over there you can make individual posts public so anyone can read those entries, whereas over here on Blogger the privacy setting is all or nothing. If you're a reader of my blog here, those postings are here, here, and here.)

Okay, enough blathering on in someone else's blog to avoid what I'm really supposed to be doing today...

Wow, the 7 things you shared are very interesting. I got the same tag so I feel the pressure and I'm having a hard time thinking of 7 things about me. I think that is cool you were in a band. And playing Anne Frank's Mom in a play---wow! My daughter's into theatre so I'm impressed by that. And, yes, I would like to read more about your Mom. That's sad, I'm sorry.

Thanks for visiting my blog.
